I demand that everyone check out...

Dschinghis Khan!

Have any of you seen it? I bet you have.

I have nicknames for everyone in there:

Ghengis: "Salazar"- he's got the evil mideast sorcerer who makes toys look going on well.
bald blue guy: "Marcaluc"- Marlon Brando + some dude from Cats + Jean-Luc Picard.
green guy: " the Lumberjack"- He looks like the brawny guy...
guy in black- "Anakin"- only slightly uglier, with darker hair, and from 1970's Germany.
Yellow girl- "Bette"- Odd resemblence to said actress and some elementary school teacher I didn't know but saw a lot. And maybe some girl who was in a really bad MST3K episode.
Girl in Red- "Farrah"- It's the hair.

The guys who have the solo about vodka (Green, black, and blue) are my lovers.

We should all learn the dance and show it off to people. That would rule. Who's with me?

I'm looking around now, and I'm wondering: will I be the only non-vegetarian in CW next year?

don't get me wrong Vegetarians and Vegans are alright. They just get annoying and stupid when they pull stupid shit to get people to stop eating meat/dairy/eggs. I've stopped eating eggs (worst thing for cholesterohl), simply because I want to get one thing down and because egg substitute tastes good. However, I will never, ever give up my skim milk or sushi. Plus, soybeans are frequently injected with hormones, almost to rival that of meat, in some cases! Soymilk is okay in vanilla flavor, but even then has waaaay too much added sugar for my taste. Soy Cheese is also nasty x70 million. Soy burgers are awesome (I like them, great substitute for red meat), but soy will never be able to replace sushi fish meat.

If you are vegetarian/ vegan, more power to you. I just couldn't do it.

That's nice. Really.

Anyway, Kiawah was nice. First night down in Charleston was the best, though. sweet breakfast, nice food, lovely stories of Bowen's island from dad, lovely lovely charleston, more consideration for C of C, etc. Kiawah was, to be perfectly honest, quite boring. A new center with a roundabout had opened--freshfields. That is a niiice shopping center. I saw Morgan there. pleasant surprise doesn't nearly begin to describe my euphoric feelings of that time. Privateer food was shitty, weather was mostly shitty. Charleston. MMmmmmph. I love that city.

Somehow, I have a need to get up on the AT or foothills trail and walk until I've gotten to the end. Damn hiking impulses. Never help anything.

Can't wait to see you tomorrow, Lindsay!

First Update in Forever. yay! [27 May 2005|08:27pm]
[ mood | happy ]
[ music | Every Planet we Reach is Dead-- Gorillaz ]

Well, I've had quite a weird few weeks.

Field/ Yearbook day was rather dull. I got to run around and play dodgeball and kick ass in it. Sophomores almost won the dodgeball tournament. It came down to one senior vs. one sophomore. Other than those events, it was nothing more than watching teenagers sweat their asses off and eat junk food and wander around in a stadium. The majority of the time was the definition of tedium. That was on Friday the 13th (Spooky!). It reminded me of how few people I really will miss. The list numbers to maybe 10.

Spring Practice went well. I've got my summer running schedule. I can't wait until I can start on it.

By the time it came to the end of Thursday, I was sure I was exempting 6 out of my 8 possible exams. Because of that, and because of the fact that we were doing absolutely nothing on Friday the 20th, I decided to go down to Atlanta. My Grandfather had Heart Surgery (triple bypass and valve repair). I got very very nervous. But it turned out that they just couldn't find a bed for him in the wing he was destined for. I felt better after that. Before that, I went to Lennox and got a T-shirt and a pair of Socks from Urban Outfitters (I love that store!). I read the Handmaid's Tale when I was down there. Great Book.

Saturday was my cousin's graduation. Reminder--never eat at the Overlook Grill. they need to get their act together. I admired the tree with all the pretty roots near the governor's school stairs. It's my favorite tree in all of greenville. After we stood around and helped Katie pack up the last of her things, we moved into the theaters to see Star Wars: Episode 3. I personally liked it. This will sound so sad: some parts of it nearly made me cry. Believe the hype if you like sci-fi: this one does have strong emotion. If you need to get more into characters' relationships, watch the clone wars shorts on starwars.com. Just trust me. It's a cartoon, yes, but it's awesome.

Last Sunday, I went on yet another hike with my parents' friend, Mort. Their son, Frank was there. I haven't seen him for a few years! olive dip is so good. We went on a hike up a mountain to see the lady slippers...they were out and gorgeous. I climbed up all the hills of the trail like a hyperactive dog running across a lawn. I swear, I had to stop 30 times so the old folks could catch up with me (the 2nd youngest was my mum, at 46). Needless to say, I probably could have made it onto the AT had they not stopped me...not that I entirely minded.

Monday was a day of rebellion for me. Firstly, because of exam exemptions, I got to miss first block entirely. They were still taking attendance in 2nd block, and I wanted to know my grade for the final speech so I attended it...I made a 96. yey. No need to come to the next class meeting. Lunch was the same ordeal...except for the fact that I made plans to have some refreshments off school campus. I was exempting Spanish, the exam the next period, so no harm done. After the bell rang, I headed out to my car and drove off, following Lauren. Nobody was watching. I ended up at the greasiest restaurant in Oconee County--the Time Drive-In. I ate 1/4 of a huuge salad. Went back to school for 4th block to review, played games, turned out that I exempted that, too. So happily, I ended up exempting all my exams, letting my Summer begin 2 days earlier than other peoples'.

So on Tuesday, I inaugurated my summer by sleeping in until 7:30. For me, that's late (I'm definitely an early bird). Then, after we got all prim, mother let me drive her down to downtown Athens. Georgia, that is (No, I do not have a cool mini with a jet engine that can fly across the atlantic and land me in Greece in an hour and a half). I've never been there: it's actually not bad or hicky like many southern college towns. After much scrutiny shopping, I got an asian parasol (which I love) for $11, a recycled fish-food container messenger bag, and (gasp) the new gorillaz CD/DVD. I looove it. I can't get Every Planet We Reach Is Dead out of my head. That is how awesome it is.

Wednesday, I drove up the mountain roads (eeop!) to Highlands. more shopping. I got a lovely skirt and pair of mary jane type shoes at Annawear, and a bar of fressia soap at the Village boutique. We stopped off with tea to go from Buck's. I got to drive home. It was good.

Thursday, I went on a hike with Jamie and Ellen and my parents. J and E had a french girl named Pauline over with them. She was nice. Fox News doesn't know what they're doing when they insult the French. The hike ended up being 9 miles long up hill, down dale, nearly going off the side of cliffs, and hanging out on suspender bridges. The prius is an OK car, but there's a distinct something I don't like about it. I can't put my finger on it at the moment. The dinner we had to cap off was endlessly delectable.

Today, I went with my Grandfather on his rounds driving the transfer truck for screw and rivet. There were many comments on how I've grown, etc. They were funny, in a way. We encountered problems in Greenville: rivets all over the place in a carnage of metal. I almost laughed. But I didn't.

Of course, multiple viewings of the star wars episodes not in theaters were peppered in at various times over the course of weeks. I know, I know.

I can't wait for tomorrow. What'll it bring? a date with max, methinks. yey. I can only pray for what the rest of the Summer will bring.

[ music | black history month- death from above 1979 ]

I went to state. I came in 4th. My time slipped by 30 seconds to 13:08, but it's still my 3rd-fastest 2-mile time ever, so I'm pretty happy with that. I'm glad I made it. I did do what I said I would do at the beginning of Cross Country season; that is, I did leave my mark on the school in running: I broke the record for the girls' 2-mile by 5 or 6 seconds. My only regrets are starting too fast and not going to get Indian afterward.

Phoebe just had her puppies. When I get a picture, I will show them. They are so cute! I saw one actually come out. Somehow, it wasn't that gross to me. Maybe I just have a strong stomach. Maybe I can think of more disgusting, disturbing things in my mind so that real-life unpleasantness doesn't disturb me as much...whatever.

11 days of school left for me. How these last few go by so agonizingly slowly! But it's already Tuesday Night, nearly halfway through the week. Maybe it's going faster, I'm just not aware of it. Friday is Carnival day, in which teenagers do stupid things on account of the Student Council's mandate. I will be one of the fools on the field. It's better than sitting in class all day, I guess. I wonder how cheesy yearbooks will be this year.

I made it to state in the 2-mile. yay!

I got a P.R. in it, too. I think I got a P.R. in everything. My first mile time in the 2-mile was my best all year, at 6:06. My final 2-mile time was 12:38. I got 3rd. I think I ran my best split in the 4x8, too.

I didn't get home until 11, but it was worth it.

Anyway, I'm so glad that it is may. Nine Inch Nails' new album is out today...I must pester my mom to get the new credit card to go for iTunes.

I saw Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy over the weekend, and it kicked ass.

God help me with my Biology EOCT tomorrow. I am not completely ready for it.

But hey, 3 weeks and one day of school left...and only 16 days until Episode 3.

I've been geeking out lately while I've been doing my homework, and this is the product of my findings:

This is a parody of the star wars episode 3 trailer. Look at it, it is funny as hell! Come on, it's great! Don't believe me? Yoda says: "Warned you we tried. Listen you did not. Now screwed we all will be." Later, he says, "Way to go, kenobi."

The new anakin song. What can I say? It's a dorky guy rockin' out about anakin skywalker.

NUMA NUMA!!! This is great. I <3 it. And it would be totally inappropriate in any action movie scene. Who doesn't love a fat guy bouncing around to a cheesy Romanian euro-pop song? C'mon that's gold!

Anything on this page. I've watched most of it. It's funny, especially Lo Mein and Darth Vulgar.

The infamous star wars gangsta rap. If you haven't seen it, click the link now.

Potter Puppet pals. Yes, I do look at things in Flash that have nothing to do with star wars. Watch me- huttah! *shao kahn evil laugh*

That's all for now, folks. Enjoy.

Yippie! I made it to upper state in all my events: the 4x8, the mile, and the 2 mile (it's not that bad if you're concentrating on something else). I don't know about my 8 time, but I met my season PR for the mile and cut my 2 mile time by 10 seconds! In one week! Huttah! That pumps me up so much.

Only 4 weeks and 4 days left at West-Joke. If I keep up my grades, probably even less. I cannot wait for the summer.

God, the HSAP was so freaking easy. I got bored with it and couldn't read a book afterward because of West-Joke's misunderstanding of the rules. Anyway, thank god that we do not have to put up with that any more. So, another Huttah!

I'll be switching into fangirl mode here in a minute. Anyway, is it just me, or does he look so much better with longer hair?

Guys always look better with longer hair, in my opinion. There are just about no exceptions. It's almost fact. I don't know what it is about long hair that I like so much. Maybe it's because I like massaging his hair and "giving back with touch" so to speak. Maybe it's because longer hair can make them look more rugged without having a nasty stubble salt-and-pepper goatee. Maybe it's just because I think it's a side effect of a bad boy who doesn't go to get his hair cut. But either way, I like it. A lot. Long hair is definitely a plus in my book.

So, do you like long hair or short hair better?

Onto more pressing matters. I went to orientation yesterday. Oh god, it was good. I met all my beetches in summer program, and got to know the other writers (do they deserve the title beetches? Can the guys get the title sons of beetches? Or would ze bastads (r intentionally left out) sound better?). I think I'm gonna like everyone next year. A couple of the new writers really catch my eye. Jack (a son of a beetch? a bastad?) was just uber-nice to me the whole time. He even said that I looked like his little cousin, but prettier. I don't know whether to be creeped out or charmed or angry or disgusted. Temnete also seemed uber-cool. (Sorry I mispronounced your name!) I re-met so many people from montessori school, like Portia and Eve. I love them. I also saw hamilton, my roommate from last summer. Overall, I feel pretty confident about next year. I will somehow find a way to get all my tea to school...

One thing I want right now more than anything else for governor's school is...this! Isn't it cute?

too, too much speculation and not enough actual doing. Mph. Typical of your average soon-to-be burned-out high school student.

Stupid birds keep on running into my window after eating at the feeder. They'll learn.

This weekend was nice. The parentals were away on Friday and Saturday in Asheville. Mom got me 2 shirts and Mr. Hays's new book.

I stayed with my Grandparents on Friday night and read the weekly world news, did homework, etc. They were hooked on CNN watching the funeral and the wedding.

On Saturday Afternoon, Max picked me up. Sometimes that boy is so dumb, it's funny. He took us all the way down Cobb Bridge road, and thought he was actually heading somewhere. At that point, as I later learned from mum, we could have gone on to 76, but maria insisted that we turn around. I met up at the trailer, and immediately wished that Max'd invited me earlier because Eryn and her friend Katie were out in swimsuits! I shared the weekly world news with Cameron and Maria. They laughed. Hard. Man, the Weekly world news is hilarious. Cameron, Max, and I rode around in the golf cart for a while. Then, we all went to this crazy tiny pizza place. Max tried to solve a rubik's cube, and we made fun of a water spot on Eryn's shirt and spewed more Daniel Rivkin-isms. Then, we all piled in the car to go on our quest for s'mores ingredients. We couldn't find marshmallows anywhere! We went to no less than 4 gas stations all around scenic Long Creek and Mountain Rest. After a good half-hour, we finally had everything. The bonfire we made didn't go off well at first. Berrn (Brian) had to pour about 30 pounds of gas on the logs to get it to do. Bonfires aren't the best for roasting Marshmallows--I had to do a fencing stance to barely get it singed. We went on a night ride on the Golf Cart to see Snuffy's horses, and then, I fell asleep. Max kissed me goodnight. It was sweet.

woke up this morning and came back. max said I look good in jeans. Glad he thinks that.

Gotta go run now.

Love all you!

I really think I have a chance of making it in the 1600 and even the 800. I think our 4x8 can also get to Upper State this year. That would be great; we've not had a real 4x8 since I was in 7th grade.

Saturday I'm leaving for a paddling trip in North Florida and won't be back until April Fool's Day. Paddling's fun. I like it. Then Seaside. Huttah!

He's cool, even though he's a religious, military, former history teacher. But he's still laid back and cool. The next night, we ran into Shelby at millenium. We treated him to dinner. He showed us his studio. It was weird, but totally awesome. I think I've just made an association of neco wafers with art. I love neco wafers. They are so good.

Meh...today's just been really bad. I've been in a bad mood, until now. I feel slightly better now.
